For over 50 years, the accountants who comprise Warren Averett Wilson Price have served their clients and community through a philosophy of respect, trust and hard work that was ingrained from the founding fathers.

In 1957 James W. Wilson, Sr. hung up his shingle and formed the firm James W. Wilson, CPA.  John Price joined Wilson in 1958; through the years other CPAs were added to the firm, along with offices in several cities in Alabama.  Carl Barranco and James Billingsley were added as partners in 1968, and the firm name was subsequently changed to Wilson, Price, Barranco & Billingsley, CPAs.

In 1978 accountants from another local CPA firm formed a partnership led by Louie Blankenship and Frank Lamar.  Tom Gilliland and Tom Hicks were later admitted as partners, and the firm name changed to Blankenship, Lamar, Gilliland & Hicks.

As both firms continued to grow, the partners realized that joining these two firms would enable them to serve their clients better with a higher degree of specialized services, from being able to consolidate shared costs to the fulfillment of destiny.  On January 1, 1997, Blankenship, Lamar, Gilliland & Hicks merged with Wilson, Price, Barranco & Billingsley to form Wilson, Price, Barranco, Blankenship & Billingsley, P.C.

The certified public accounting firms of Warren, Averett, Kimbrough & Marino, LLC, Wilson, Price, Barranco, Blankenship & Billingsley, P.C. and O’Sullivan Creel, LLP announced the joining of their firms effective January 1, 2012. This strategic move takes three significant firms, each a dominant provider in their respective markets, and creates one firm offering expanded reach and resources, additional service solutions and strengthened depth of expertise, with the same level of personal client service. With more than 550 team members and 12 offices spanning from the Tennessee Valley to the Gulf of Mexico, the combined firm of Warren Averett, LLC will rank among the top 35 firms in the nation and within the top 5 largest southeastern firms.
